Putting seaweed around the fruit trees is the perfect way to suppress competing plants and provide nutrients to the new trees. We want to get them off to a good start!
Wondering why?

Should you rinse the salt off the seaweed?
Good idea Helen! We’re keeping in a trailer uncovered so hopefully it will rain before we spread it but if not we can rinse with a hose.
Hi Helen, we’ve checked with our pro gardener Marie and actually not required to wash the seaweed. A YouTube video also explained that the seaweed has no salt within it – only a small amount on the surface which is not enough to cause an issue. The person said that they had watched worms all around their seaweed having no issue.
But anyway it has rained a lot so it’s actually been quite well washed this time!
